Those of us in marketing know Melanie from her 25-year career with Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson before that. She’s led some of the most iconic brands and managed the biggest categories in the world. She most recently served as P&G’s Group President, North America, running overall operations in the largest market for the largest advertiser on the planet. For eight years, she’s held court on Fortune Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business. She currently sits on the board of Verizon, the board of Target and today I’m honored to announce that she also sits on the board of Beckon.
It’s a match made in heaven.
Melanie, in her role as a global marketing leader for so many years, knew that something like Beckon just had to exist. When she met us and saw the business results we’re driving for our customers, she had to get involved and help make Beckon a household name among global brands.
Beckon, as the system of record and intelligence platform for marketing, wins over and over versus generic tools that try to be all things to all functions because we know marketing. We hire marketing leaders, marketing analytics leads, marketing planners, marketing strategists, even ex-CMOs. Our software speaks marketing through and through.
So, to have a business + marketing leader like Melanie Healey on our board is a dream come true. Like Beckon, she sees smart marketing as the growth engine for a business. She understands that, in increasingly competitive and noisy markets, using data to do more with less—and at scale—is more than a “nice to have.” It’s a strategic competitive advantage.
And, in addition to all the strategic alignment and exciting synergies, Melanie is just take-your-breath-away smart, wise and kind. We’re so happy to have her on the board of directors with us as we continue to build this amazing company.
Welcome, Mel. We couldn’t be more thrilled about what’s to come!
