BECKON WELCOMES IHG ALUM, DAVID SCHMITT, AS VP OF MARKETING ANALYTICS STRATEGY TO SUPPORT BECKON’S GLOBAL CUSTOMERS
Expands Beckon’s Leadership Team of Marketing Visionaries; Further Positions Beckon for Growth
SAN MATEO, Calif.—February 29, 2016—Beckon, the leader in marketing intelligence software, today announced the appointment of David Schmitt as vice president of marketing analytics strategy.
David comes to Beckon from InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), where as director of interactive marketing operations and analytics, he led a team responsible for the measurement and operation of the company’s global Performance Marketing program. This program supports aggressive revenue goals via the company’s website and telephone reservation centers to over 5,000 hotels across 11 brands in nearly 100 countries. To help maximize the program, David led a strategic data initiative to empower the marketing team to use technology, like Beckon’s marketing intelligence software, to transform data into actionable knowledge.

Prior to his most recent role at IHG, David held other marketing leadership positions at Elastic Networks, EchoStar Data Networks and Apple—where he focused on closing the gaps between people and technology to improve how decision-makers turn insights into action. Honored by SAS and Teradata as a Hero of Analytics, a program to acknowledge leaders in the application of analytics, he has also been a thought leader in the analytics space, as a contributor to All Analytics, and a well-regarded presenter at many conferences. He has a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
