The leadership at Beckon is fiercely spirited when it comes to celebrating holidays. What one might imagine would be a simple Halloween costume contest this year ended up a little more like this:
So after Halloween, it was clear that the Beckon vets weren’t exaggerating about the annual Gingerbread House making party. We broke off into teams and spent hours creating masterpieces out of pre-baked gingerbread pieces from Virginia Bakery in Berkeley.
The engineers measured, cut, and built our houses for structural soundness, while the marketers in the group sorted candies, dyed frosting, and conceptualized décor for the houses.
One team labored over cutting and building skinny houses side by side to create the San Francisco’s Painted Ladies (complete with sloping hill).
Meanwhile, other teams ran with all kinds of themes, like a Frank Lloyd-Wright-inspired modern design complete with solar panels, a “Beckon” house, a Silicon Valley house, and more. The office was left smelling like the inside of your grandma’s oven, and looking like a candy crime scene. Mission accomplished!
Oh, and in case you haven’t met him, the man under the gingerbread costume is our SVP of Sales, Rob Fisher.
Happy Holidays to all from the Beckon Team!
